Job Duties of Law Clerk:
  • Conduct in-depth research on immigration laws, policies, regulations, and case precedents to support attorneys in case preparation
  • Analyze immigration statutes and recent regulation and case law to assess their impact on client cases.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, affidavits and gather and organize supporting documents to be filed with the immigration court under the supervision of immigration attorney.
  • Prepare immigration-related forms such as I-130, I-485, I-765, and other USCIS applications and petitions.
  • Review and proofread client-submitted materials to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Assist in interviewing clients to gather relevant information and facts about their immigration matters.
  • Explain processes, deadlines, and document requirements to clients in a clear and compassionate manner.
  • Handle confidential client information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Communicate with government agencies such as USCIS, the Department of State, and immigration courts regarding case updates and inquiries.
  • Collaborate with translators, expert witnesses, and other professionals required for case preparation.
  • Stay updated on changes to immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance in all legal filings and procedures.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality standards and maintain ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
